Interesting idea - their argument about underusing the computing power existing in current cameras is a pretty easy one to grasp, really. I’ve been saying for a while that we should be able to use spot metering, for example, to define the dynamic range of an image - spot meter the lightest tone and the darkest tone, and the camera should know to use those points as white & black in the image…
